60th Anniversary Celebrations
RHAND Credit Union was registered with the Registrar of Credit Unions on 27th March, 1947. It had its humble and inauspicious genesis in a wooden building which housed the Information Office. This was situated on the Abercromby Street side of the Red House, adjacent to the Registrar-General's Department. Subsequent office locations include : St. Vincent Street(1978), Charlotte Street(1980) and back to St. Vincent Street. Fast forward to today, to the impressive building which it now calls home, sitting on three lots of land at 57-61 Abercromby Street, Port of Spain
It has indeed been a long eventful journey from 1947 to 2007, which has seen RHAND grow from strength to strength and weather many storms of the changing socio-political economic environments in which it operates. RHAND has experienced positive growth in various spheres:

membership (from 10 members to 17,110 active members)

asset base (from $2,635.00 to $297,600,000.00)

branch offices (Tobago, August 2002 and Arima, August 2005)
The odyssey continues as we celebrate this year, sixty (60) years of committed service to our members. Sixty years of unstinting commitment to: excellence, superior service standards, serving and safeguarding members financial and other interests and members'
self development. For these sixty years, we give thanks first to God, the Founding Members, the members of the Board of Directors, Statutory Committees, management and staff through the years, and to our beloved members. Sixty years of living the tenet, not for profit, not for charity, but for service.
On Friday 12th January, 2007 we returned to our place of birth, the Red house, and launched our Diamond Jubilee Diary of Events in a ceremony which saw the President,
Mr. Trevor Boissiere and founding member Mr. P. K. Niles unveiling our 60th Anniversary Logo. Also sharing in our celebrations were Mr. Barendra Sinanan, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Murchison Brown, mayor of Port of Spain, Mr. Ewart Williams, Governor of the Central Bank, Mr. Ashford Sankar, Deputy PS, Ministry of Labour, Small and Micro Enterprise Development, Mr. Kelvin Andrews, former Executive Director, as well as fellow co-operators. This event was chaired by one of our Past Presidents, Mr. Earl Nesbitt.
We plan to give thanks and celebrate in a manner that is befitting this significant milestone. We feel that this period must be justly recognized, saluted and indelibly marked on our collective memories in many years to come. Join us as we continue our odyssey.
